What is Mediation?
Mediation is a structured negotiation process in which an independent person, known as a mediator, assists the parties to identify and assess options and negotiate an agreement to resolve their dispute. Mediation is an alternative to a judge imposing a decision on the parties. (Federal Court of Australia)
Mediation is faster and more cost effective way to resolve conflicts with the parties remaining in control of the outcome that mutually suits their best interests.
Lifestyle Mediation is an online (Zoom) mediation specialist while also offering person to person sessions and “shuttle” sessions (parties are separated with the mediator as the go-between) if needed. We are flexible with hours and weekend times that suit our busy clients around their family commitments and work schedules.

About Katie
Katie Park
My background before working in the Family Law space as a Mediator was a 20+ year career in the media industry as a Breakfast Radio Executive Producer/Podcast Producer/ Writer/TV Show Producer.
My media background has given me a wealth of experience when it comes to high conflict situations and managing people with all types of personalities and cultural backgrounds. I am highly skilled in communicating with people to gain rapport and trust and following processes with strict time management constraints. I excel at working collaboratively across different disciplines.
This has transferred brilliantly into my work as a Mediator, FDRP, Parenting Coordinator and as a Child Consultant for the last two years by helping families in my private practice “Lifestyle Mediation”, in collaboration with Family Lawyers, move through the process of divorce and separation with a focus on safety and the children’s best interests in a cost effective and timely manner. I am dedicated to my career and have committed myself to support families and their children at an incredibly vulnerable and difficult time (before, during and after the process) to allow a future lifestyle that is healthy, safe and peaceful.
During the period I worked at Smooth FM, I was a guest social commentator for parenting issues on Channel Nine TODAY Show and Seven SUNRISE and a guest Parenting and Lifestyle Writer for Mamamia and NINEHoney. I had a successful Podcast Called “The Worst Day of Your Life” and I have a children’s book published called “The Shut Down”.
I am an Accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP). Accredited by the Australian Government Attorney General’s Department to conduct family dispute resolution and issue section 60I certificates under the Family Law Act 1975. I have a Grad Dip FDRP- College of Law.
I am a Nationally Accredited AMDRAS Mediator through Australian Dispute Centre.
I am a qualified Parenting Coordinator and a member of Parenting Coordination Australia. A parenting coordinator (PC) is a neutral third party who helps divorced or separated parents implement their parenting plan/orders, oversee all communication and resolve conflicts in a child centred way.
I am a Child Consultant for Child Inclusive Mediation. I hold a certificate through “Children Beyond Dispute” by Jenny MacIntosh. A Child Consultant is a trained professional who speaks with children (if assessed as appropriate by the FDRP and Child Consultant) in a safe and supportive environment to understand their experiences, concerns, and needs, often in the context of parental separation or family disputes.
